About this park
Big Spring State Park is a day-use park centered on a 200-foot bluff with a view across the Texas plains. A paved three-mile loop road winds around and up the mountain to its peak and is popular with walkers, runners, bikers and dogs. Visitors hike, bike, watch nature and picnic. A historic pavilion built by the Civilian Conservation Corps more than 80 years ago sits on top of the hill and can be reserved for gatherings.
