This Georgian-style mansion overlooking the Mohawk River was built around 1764 for Nicholas Herkimer. The estate was home to many people over the years. Guided tours run Wednesday-Sunday from Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day, on the hour from 10 a.m., with the last tour leaving the visitor center at 4 p.m. The grounds can be enjoyed year-round from dawn to dusk. Group tours of ten or more are available by reservation.
