Mark Twain State Park is named for the 19th-century author who spent summers in the area. It is home to the Soaring Eagles Golf Course, a scenic and challenging 18-hole course with a unique design that has only two parallel holes. The course sits on land shaped by a retreating glacier, which laid down sand, gravel and silt and left water-filled depressions where buried ice melted. Tee times can be booked online.
