Curt Gowdy State Park lies in the Laramie Range between Cheyenne and Laramie, around Granite Springs and Crystal reservoirs. The park is open 365 days a year, 24 hours with a camping permit, and the Visitor Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All campsites are first-come, first-served. Hynds Lodge and the amphitheater can be rented, with bookings opening one year ahead. Water at Hynds Lodge, Granite Reservoir and Crystal Reservoir is shut off at the end of September, while the Visitor Center keeps water, showers and restrooms available year-round. Hunting rules for the park are posted on the state parks website. The park page also lists an algal bloom advisory for the Granite Springs Reservoir west causeway.
