Bastrop State Park has welcomed visitors for more than 70 years to enjoy the Lost Pines, a towering stretch of forest unique to this region. Wildfire and floods have hit the park in recent years, and it is now in recovery, with new trees and plants coming back. Walking the trails shows how the forest is regrowing. Visitors can rent a cabin among the pines, camp with the family and gather around the campfire. The park is part of the Texas State Parks day pass system.
