Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most about searching campgrounds and RV parks on ParkedRV.

ParkedRV is a free search tool for finding campgrounds and RV parks across all 50 states, bringing together campgrounds from the National Park Service (NPS), U.S. Forest Service (USFS), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) into one searchable, filterable database.

Yes. Searching and browsing campgrounds on ParkedRV is completely free, with no account required and no fees now or in the future.

Listings come from public data published by the agencies that manage the land — the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. We organize that information into one nationwide, searchable directory. We're also in the process of updating and cleaning up our existing listings to make the data more accurate and complete.

Right now ParkedRV focuses specifically on federally managed campgrounds — NPS, USFS, BLM, and USACE sites. We're actively working on adding state park campgrounds next. Private RV resorts aren't on the roadmap yet, but it's something we may look at down the line.

Use the search bar on the homepage to search by campground name, filter by state, or narrow results to reservable campgrounds and RV-friendly campgrounds only.

It means the campground has sites suitable for RVs, as opposed to being tent-only or otherwise unsuited to larger vehicles. We pull this from the details provided by the managing agency for each site.

A reservable campground allows you to book a site in advance, typically through the agency's official reservation system (such as Recreation.gov). Campgrounds without this label are usually first-come, first-served.

No. ParkedRV is a search and information tool, not a booking platform. Each listing links out to the relevant contact information — and, for reservable sites, you'll book directly through the managing agency's official reservation system.

Click "View more detail" on any campground card to see its full description, photos, phone number, and address.

We work from the public data made available by each agency. Details like fees, seasonal closures, and availability can change, so we always recommend confirming directly with the campground or its managing agency before you head out.

No. Anyone can search and browse the full campground database without creating an account.

Yes. Alongside campground search, we curate a shop of RV gear, tools, and accessories. ParkedRV participates in the Amazon Associates program, so some of those links earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Email us at hello@parkedrv.com with the campground name and the correction, and we'll look into it.
