Wind Creek State Park near Alexander City sits on the shores of Lake Martin and is one of the largest state-operated campgrounds in the United States. The park's forested peninsulas and clear water make it a top pick for camping and lake vacations in central Alabama. Visitors can swim at the beach, fish, boat and try the zip line. Hundreds of campsites, along with cabins and picnic areas, make it easy to accommodate large groups and families. Sunset views over the lake are a highlight of any visit.
