Lake Guntersville State Park covers about 6,000 acres of mountain and lakefront scenery along the Tennessee River in north Alabama. The park sits on a ridge above the water, giving it some of the best views in the state. A mountain-top lodge offers comfortable stays, and visitors can enjoy a golf course, a zip line, hiking trails and boating on the lake. In winter, the area becomes a well-known place to watch bald eagles, and the park hosts programs for eagle watchers. Admission is $5 for adults 12 and older, $2 for children 4 to 11 and seniors 62 and older, and free for children under 4. It is a great destination in every season.
