Wood-Tikchik State Park near Dillingham is the largest state park in the United States, covering about 1.6 million acres of southwest Alaska. It is a roadless wilderness of connected lakes, wild rivers and rugged mountains, including the Wood River Mountains. The park is famous for its salmon and world-class fishing, and its remoteness makes it a favorite for experienced paddlers, anglers and floatplane visitors. Wildlife is abundant, and the scenery is dramatic in every direction. There is no parking fee, and access is remote only.
