About this park

Cheaha State Park near Delta sits atop Cheaha Mountain, the highest point in Alabama at 2,407 feet. The park lies within the Talladega National Forest and offers cool air, rocky ridges and panoramic views that stretch across the southern Appalachian foothills. Visitors can stay at the lodge or in cabins, hike trails that include stretches of the long-distance Pinhoti Trail, and explore waterfalls tucked into the forest. A historic stone tower built by the Civilian Conservation Corps adds to the sense of history, and the overlooks are especially popular at sunrise and sunset. Admission is $5 for adults 12 and older, $2 for children 4 to 11 and seniors 62 and older, and free for children under 4. Fall color makes autumn one of the best times to visit.
