Homolovi State Park near Winslow protects an important archaeological landscape that was home to the ancestors of the Hopi people. Hundreds of years ago, families built pueblos here, and the remains of more than 300 rooms can still be seen in the surrounding desert. Trails lead to ruin sites and viewpoints, and a visitor center explains the history and meaning of the area. The park also has a campground near the Little Colorado River, giving visitors a chance to enjoy wide skies and quiet desert scenery. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for youth ages 7 to 13, with camping at $25 to $40 per night. Please treat all sites with respect and avoid touching or removing artifacts.
