Colorado River State Historic Park

Yuma, AZ

Colorado River State Historic Park
Fee: $10 adult; $5 youth

About this park

Colorado River State Historic Park in Yuma preserves the site of the Yuma Quartermaster Depot, a key supply center for army posts across the Arizona Territory. Steamboats once brought goods up the Colorado River to this spot, and supplies were then sent out to forts across the region. Visitors can tour historic adobe buildings and storehouses, see exhibits about the depot and the river trade, and stroll through shaded gardens with views toward the river. The park offers a glimpse of a time when the Colorado was a major transportation route. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for youth. It pairs well with a visit to the nearby Yuma Territorial Prison.
